 998 in California as a weeklong summer camp\, held on college campuses and
  virtually. It offers girls entering eighth grade an opportunity to explor
 e the world of STEM and see a future for themselves in the field. Now a na
 tional program offered by the American Association of University Women (AA
 UW)\, Tech Trek is sponsored by local branches. Members fund camperships a
 t low or no cost to families and coordinate with local schools to select p
 romising students.\n\nCampers experience college life for a week\, while v
 irtual campers participate from home. Both formats feature interactions wi
 th female role models\, hands-on workshops\, group projects\, and demonstr
 ations. Activities may include building balloon-powered race cars\, CSI-ty
 pe forensics\, chemistry\, or wearable tech. The camps are staffed by fema
 le AAUW members and local volunteers. For over 25 years\, Tech Trek in Cal
 ifornia has reached more than 15\,000 girls. As the founding entity\, AAUW
  California is proud to offer this signature program.\n\nAstraFemina Speak
 er Role: Professional Women’s Evening. The campers break into groups of 10
  and rotate through each 'station' which is staffed by one of the professi
 onal women. Discuss your career path and take questions from the small gro
 ups of girls as they rotate through your 'station'. Light supper begins at
  5:15 PM. Rotations begin at 6:00 pm\, with the whole program slated to go
  for about 2 1/2 hours.
