AstraFemina was proud to participate in the Pop-Up Girl Scout DreamLab: STEM Family Fun Day at the National Museum of WWII Aviation, an event that welcomed nearly three hundred Girl Scouts and their families for a hands-on celebration of creativity, discovery, and possibility.
The museum was buzzing with energy as girls explored marshmallow bridge building, satellite construction, augmented reality sandboxes, airplane design challenges, and more. The day offered a chance for families to learn side by side and to see how science and engineering come alive through exploration.
AstraFemina board member Lt. General Susan Helms brought her insight and encouragement to the event through an uplifting presentation that quickly became a highlight of the day. Her message reminded girls that curiosity is a powerful tool and that STEM is a world where they belong and can thrive. Families shared that her words helped spark excitement and confidence in their daughters, creating a moment that will stay with them long after the day ended.
Events like this matter. According to the Girl Scout Research Institute, Girl Scouts are twenty percent more likely to aspire to a career in STEM than their peers. Experiences that center role models and hands-on learning help strengthen that interest and show girls that their dreams in STEM are possible.
The Girl Scout staff shared that they received wonderful feedback and plan to bring the event back to Colorado Springs next year. We were also excited to see the day featured on KKTV, highlighting the enthusiasm and impact of the program. AstraFemina is grateful for every opportunity to connect with girls across the country and help spark the curiosity that leads to STEM futures. We celebrate Lt. General Helms for sharing her story, her leadership, and her time with the next generation of innovators.
Together, we help girls see that they can be what they can see.
