Bringing Space Down to Earth: AstraFemina at the Girl Scouts' Space Explorers Event

On a bright and buzzing day at the Girl Scout DreamLab in Denver, over 300 young explorers and their families gathered to experience space in a way few ever have. Up close, hands-on, and incredibly personal.

AstraFemina was honored to participate in the Girl Scouts of Colorado Space Explorers Event, alongside inspiring partners Sierra Space and Blue Canyon Technologies. The goal? To ignite curiosity, spark imagination, and show the next generation, especially girls, that the stars are well within reach.

Our AstraFemina role model for the day? None other than Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger, a former NASA astronaut and Colorado native. With a personal story that spanned classrooms and shuttle missions, Dottie captivated the audience by reminding them that space isn’t just for rocket scientists - it’s for dreamers, doers, and everyone willing to reach higher.

From building model satellites to testing astronaut gloves, the event was a celebration of hands-on STEM learning. Questions flew as fast as comets, and the air was filled with awe and excitement. For many attendees, this was their first chance to connect science with real-world careers and see someone who looked like them leading the way.

"You made space feel personal and possible." — Girl Scouts of Colorado

We couldn’t agree more. At AstraFemina, our mission is to empower girls and young women through visible, relatable role models in STEM. Events like Space Explorers remind us just how powerful that visibility can be.

This was more than just a day of science activities, it was a launchpad for dreams. We’re grateful to the Girl Scouts of Colorado for the opportunity to connect, inspire, and help shape the future of space exploration...one curious mind at a time.
