Varying Times Available
Approximately 150 attendees (virtual & in-person)
Deadline to Sign Up: August 31st
Every year, WAA holds a Women in Aerospace Conference to build their networks, support each other, and hear from other successful women in the aerospace industry. This year’s conference will be held November 14th in Ann Arbor, Michigan with the theme “Curiosity Takes Flight - Dare to Follow” which emphasizes following your interests and passions, even if they seem daunting or unobtainable, as showcased by our conference honoree Amy Johnson - an inspiring engineer who didn’t let anything stand in her way and persevered through every challenge in her path. At least 3 universities are usually represented, and we are hoping to increase that number this year through more outreach.
Schedule Overview:
Pre-conference dinner on the evening of November 13
Conference runs from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM on November 14
The day will include breakfast, speaker sessions, group activities, lunch, panel discussions, networking, and reflection activities.
Types of Speaking Opportunities:
A 35-minute individual presentation
A 35-minute career panel alongside 3–4 other panelists
In the afternoon, attendees will rotate between a networking session, an activity, and the career panel.
AstraFemina Speaker Role: We are looking for someone to speak at this year’s conference on topics related to the theme and more broadly about their experiences as a woman in aerospace engineering; the general format would be a 30-40 minute long presentation followed by a 10-minute Q&A portion.
AF SPEAKER: Karolyn Young
